Oral Surgeon Dr. Kevin Robertson

Dr. RobertsonDr. Kevin Robertson was born and raised here in Calgary. Following high school his studies took him to Northern California, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at University of the Pacific. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California.

Pursuing his passion, Dr. Robertson then moved to Chicago, Illinois to complete a 4-year post-graduate residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. During his time in Chicago, he received specialized training in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including surgical removal of wisdom teeth, dental implant placement, bone grafting, intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), facial trauma, oral pathology and reconstruction.

Wishing to obtain even more advanced training, Dr. Robertson then travelled to Melbourne, Australia for a 1-year fellowship post in Paediatric Maxillofacial Surgery. During this year, he focused on the surgical management of children with cleft lip/palate and many other craniofacial syndromes.

Dr. Robertson is a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(C)), as well as several other professional organizations. Additionally, he has published several academic papers – mostly with a focus on cleft and craniofacial orthognathic surgery.

Following the completion of the last year of his training in Australia, Dr. Robertson was excited to have the opportunity to return to his hometown of Calgary. He works out of Foundation Oral Surgery in addition to several of the hospitals around Calgary, including Peter Lougheed Centre and the Alberta Children’s Hospital (where he is a member of the Cleft Palate Team).

Outside of the office, he has a wife and a young son, and he avidly plays a variety of sports, including hockey, kiteboarding/kitesurfing (his favourite), golf, skiing/snowboarding, Ninja Warrior competitions, running, racquetball/squash/tennis, and many more.
